ConvertImg.com ("ConvertImg", "we", "us") provides free online tools to convert, compress, resize, crop, rotate and extract text from images. We keep things simple: no account is needed, we never sell or share your images, and we do not keep them.
The website is free because it is supported by advertising, and we use Google Analytics to understand how it is used. This policy explains what happens to your images, and what information is collected by us and by our advertising and analytics partners when you use the website.
Our tools work in one of two ways. The tool you use determines which one applies.
The following tools process your images locally on your device. Your images are not uploaded to our servers:
The following tools need server-side software (ImageMagick) to work. When you use them, your file is sent to our server over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), processed, and returned to you:
For these tools:
Please do not upload images that you do not have the right to use, or that contain highly sensitive information, if you are not comfortable with this temporary processing.
We do not require accounts, logins, or personal details to use our tools. We do not ask for your name or email address to process images.
Like most websites, our web server may automatically record standard technical information when you visit or use a tool, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested, and the date and time of the request. This information is used only to keep the website secure, prevent abuse, fix errors, and keep the service running. It does not include the content of your images.
When you visit the website, our analytics and advertising partners may also collect information through cookies and similar technologies. This is explained in the sections "Analytics" and "Advertising" below.
To protect the service from abuse, the Converter and Compressor limit each visitor to 50 files every 10 minutes. To do this we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address together with the time of each request, for about 10 minutes. These records contain no images and are deleted automatically shortly afterwards.
If you contact us or join a notification list (for example, when the site is in maintenance), we collect the email address and message you choose to send, and we use it only to reply to you or to notify you about the website.
Cookies are small files stored on your device. Websites also use similar technologies such as local storage, pixels and device identifiers. We use them in three ways:
Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), non-essential cookies are used only after you give your consent, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies does not stop the image tools from working.
We use Google Analytics to learn how visitors use the website, for example which tools and pages are popular, which countries visitors come from, and what devices and browsers are used. Google Analytics may collect information such as pages visited, time on page, approximate location, device and browser details, and a cookie identifier. It does not receive the content of your images. The information is kept for the period we set in our Google Analytics account.
You can learn how Google uses this data at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
ConvertImg.com shows ads provided by Google AdSense and other advertising platforms. These partners are "third-party vendors". They use cookies, advertising identifiers and similar technologies to show ads, to limit how often you see the same ad, to measure how ads perform, and to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites (personalized ads) where you have allowed it.
Your choices about ads:
Opting out of personalized ads does not remove ads. You will still see ads, but they will be less relevant to you.
To work properly, our pages load resources from third-party providers. When your browser loads them, those providers may receive standard request data such as your IP address. We do not control their data practices.
We use HTTPS to protect files in transit and take reasonable steps to protect our servers. Temporary files are stored in folders that are not publicly accessible. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to object to how it is used, to withdraw your consent, and to opt out of personalized advertising or of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for advertising (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or California law). Because we collect very little information ourselves, there is usually nothing to correct or delete beyond messages or email addresses you sent us. Data held by Google and other partners can be managed through the opt-out links in the "Advertising" section. To make a request, please contact us.
Our tools are general-purpose and are not directed at children under 13, and our ads are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we add new tools. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
If you have any questions about this privacy policy, please contact us.
